Horizon Marine Service Company has a hands on owner who works in the field daily, along side a the other technicians. Hands on ownership is what makes for a successful company, especially a service business. We have been in the Shelter Island-Harbor Island area working on boats since 1989. We stay at a small size to maintain quality. Never more than 3 of us.

The Past

Until May of 2002 Gary also owned San Diego Yacht Charters and The Horizon Marine Store on Harbor Island. To settle a divorce, he gave those to his ex-wife and his loss is your gain. He now spends 100% of his time taking excellent care of yachts like yours.

The Experience

When you had 30 charter boats going out every day for 12 years, you gain a tremendous amount of experience. We are experienced in all facets of yacht repairs. Whether your needs are mechanical, electrical, plumbing, rigging, or many other things, you can call us and get the job done. Fast, on time, at a fair price. Our parts are usually priced less than West Marine would sell them for, but never any higher!

The Promise

We like to tell people "We have no enemies, and want to keep it that way". If we don't meet your expectations (gasp), just call us and we will make you happy. Our quest is customer service and satisfaction. If you are not happy, we are not happy. We try to treat you the same way we would expect to be treated. And we do it with high ethics and experience in the care of your boat. In most marinas and yacht-clubs we can furnish about 30-40 references! In each one. That translates to about a 10% market share.

The Future

We hope the future includes working on your yacht. We only work on Harbor and Shelter Islands in San Diego Bay, and the Marriott Marina.
